Work is from the series:

Beauty Duties of My Headrag

Using old photographs  and carefully constructed compositions, the collection addresses various aspects of contemporary Black womanhood: the pressure to conform to Western beauty standards, the therapeutic nature of self-care, the emotional labor of maintaining public composure, and the continuous negotiation between tradition and modern identity. Each contributes to a larger narrative about strength, vulnerability, and the ongoing journey of self-definition in a world that often demands both assimilation and authenticity. The headrag serves as both a literal and metaphorical thread throughout the series, representing cultural preservation, protection, and the daily rituals of feminine existence.
